The Jets activated Phillips (ankle) off their physically unable to perform list Wednesday.
Phillips sustained a season-ending ankle injury near the end of October of the 2020 season. The defensive end has spent his entire 2021 season on the Jets' PUP list and will now be able to provide depth on the edge of the team's defensive line. Expect Phillips to earn a key role on the defensive line once he's able to return to the field.
