Smith has agreed to a one-year contract with the Jets on Friday, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports.
Smith spent his first 13 seasons with the Cowboys and established himself as one of the league's best offensive tackles. Offensive line was a weakness for the Jets in 2023, but Smith's addition will help improve the unit. The veteran tackle is now projected to protect Aaron Rodgers' (Achilles) blind side in the upcoming season.
