Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that Wilson (knee) has been medically cleared and will start Sunday's game against the Steelers if the quarterback responds well to practice activity this week.
Wilson missed the first three games of the season while recovering from a meniscectomy and a bone bruise to his right knee, but he's on track to unseat Joe Flacco atop the depth chart for Week 4. Flacco led the league in pass attempts over the first three weeks of the season, but the Jets would ideally opt for a lower-tempo, run-heavy approach Sunday to ease Wilson back in action if the game flow allows for it.
