The Lions will waive Thomas (undisclosed) with a non-football injury designation Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Thomas joined the Lions on a reserve/future contract in mid-January but will part ways with the organization just over two months later. The nature and severity of his injury aren't yet clear, so his status for the offseason remains to be seen.
