Thomas signed with Carolina's practice squad Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Thomas was released as part of the Panthers' roster cut down but will stick around on their practice squad despite having dealt with an undisclosed injury. The 2018 sixth-round pick is attempting to switch to linebacker after having played tight end throughout the initial portion of his career.
