The Panthers released Trask on Sunday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
Trask had just joined the team earlier this month to provide additional quarterback depth with Haynes King sidelined due to a hamstring injury. If King is forced to miss time during the regular season, Carolina could bring Trask back to its practice squad to serve as the team's emergency third quarterback.
