The Lions signed Long off their practice squad Wednesday.
Long was released by the Dolphins on Nov. 13 and signed with Detroit's practice squad five days later. He played 13 defensive snaps in his Lions debut last week against the Colts and now joins the active roster. Long has 76 career regular-season games of experience, including 49 starts.
