Lions coach Dan Campbell said Tuesday that Gibbs (hamstring) is "trending the right way" and may resume practicing as soon as Sunday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Campbell mentioned Sunday, the day after Detroit's preseason finale against Pittsburgh, as the possible return date for a bunch of his injured players. It presumably won't be a strenuous practice just one day after an exhibition, but Gibbs' fantasy managers would nonetheless be thrilled to see him back on the field in any capacity. The young RB left practice early last Monday with a hamstring injury and has now been out for more than a week.
