Stafford completed 27-of-42 passes for 405 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's win over Chicago. He added 37 rushing yards on six carries.
You'd have to go back to Week 6 of the 2013 season for Stafford's last four-touchdown game and to Week 8 of 2013 for his last 400-yard game, both predating the current regime and offensive system. Much has been made about Stafford's fit with offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi's scheme, but the marriage looked quite nice on Sunday with the rifle-armed Stafford completing eight passes of 20 or more yards after the team tallied just 15 such passes in the season's first five games. Putting together this kind of performance against a top-10 pass defense like Chicago's could be expected to provide Stafford some confidence headed into Week 7's matchup against Minnesota and their middle-of-the-road pass defense.
