New England released LaCosse on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
LaCosse opted out of the 2020 season, and he will now have to search for a role elsewhere in the league. The Patriots are heading into the 2021 regular season with Devin Asiasi around as a reserve option behind Hunter Henry (shoulder) and Jonnu Smith.
