The Dolphins waived Wieting on Friday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Wieting was vying for a run-blocking role with the Dolphins, as the undrafted tight end caught just 10 passes for 117 yards in his senior season at Iowa. If he clears waivers, the Dolphins may keep him on the practice squad.
