The Patriots waived DeGennaro on Saturday, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.

DeGennaro signed with the Patriots in early May as an undrafted free agent out of James Madison. The wide receiver was aiming for a special-teams slot with the team but has evidently fallen short. DeGennaro will be subject to waivers through Monday due to Sunday's cutdown day. If the 25-year-old goes unclaimed, he will become a free agent able to sign with any organization's 53-man roster or practice squad.
