Nelson (undisclosed) was waived with an injury designation Tuesday.
Nelson signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts in January, but he was unable to stay healthy during training camp. The 2018 fourth-round pick had a productive first season in the NFL, appearing in 10 games and registering 20 tackles for the Raiders. Since then, the Wisconsin product has dealt with nagging knee injuries that have kept him out of NFL action. His current injury is unknown.
