Young isn't in line to play in Saturday's preseason game versus the Jets, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Young thus will have one more chance to handle some game action during exhibition season next Saturday in Buffalo. With Andy Dalton also not suiting up this weekend, Jack Plummer and Jake Luton will be the available signal-callers for the Panthers. Once Week 1 rolls around, Young will be looking to bounce back from a forgettable rookie campaign in 2023 in which he passed for 2,877 yards, 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, rushed for 253 yards and fumbled 11 times (six lost) in 16 regular-season contests.
