Interim GM Marty Hurney relayed that he doesn't know how long the Panthers will keep two kickers, but did note that if the team has two for this coming Sunday's season opener at San Francisco, Gano will kick, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
For now, both Gano and rookie Harrison Butker are on the Panthers' roster, but it looks like the team is trying to whittle that down to one. Those eyeing either Carolina kicker in Week 1 lineups should monitor the situation closely, while those in season-long formats will probably want to hold off on a heavy investment in the team's kicking game until a final determination is made.
