Butker survived Saturday's roster cuts but is still battling for the starting kicker job, Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Butker seems like he's neck-and-neck with Graham Gano at the moment. There's a chance the team will take both kickers with them when they travel across the country to San Francisco for Week 1, but that seems somewhat unlikely. Carolina opted to go with youth over experience at punter, so who's to say they won't do the same at kicker? As for now, we'll have to wait and see.
