Wharton (neck) will begin training camp on the Panthers' active/PUP list, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Wharton underwent a procedure on his neck back in May, and he's still not ready to return to the practice field with training camp now underway. As long as he remains unavailable, LaBryan Ray will be a candidate to see more work with the first-team defensive line.
