The Patriots signed Jones to a contract Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Jones will provide the Patriots with another big space eater in the middle of the defense after the team struggled to defend the run in last Wednesday's 13-10 loss to the Seahawks. Jones will likely share snaps with fellow nose tackle Cory Durden until he grows more accustomed to the Patriots' defense. The team placed A.J. Brown on injured reserve in a corresponding move.
