Due to Tom Brady's four-game suspension being enforced by the 2nd U.S. District Court of Appeals, Garoppolo will likely start the Patriots' first four regular season games.
Garoppolo will become the team's starter, while 2016 third-round pick Jacoby Brissett will presumably serve as his backup while Brady is out. The third-year pro will gain some valuable NFL starting experience through Brady's absence, and the playing time will give him a certain degree of fantasy value in the first quarter of the campaign.
