Smith was added to the Patriots' Week 2 injury report Thursday, so it remains to be seen if his Thursday limitations were maintenance-related or indicative of an in-practice injury. What he's able to do Friday thus will be telling, but if Smith is sidelined or limited at all Sunday against the Jets, added opportunities would be available for fellow tight end Hunter Henry.
