The Patriots are trading Richards to the Falcons, Jim McBride of The Boston Globe reports.
A 2015 second-round pick, Richards has just seven NFL starts to his name and seemed to be on the roster bubble this preseason. He'll likely get most of his playing time on special teams in Atlanta.
