Perkins (ankle) was designated to return from injured reserve Thursday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Perkins was placed on injured reserve Dec. 17 but will now have 21 days to return to practice or remain on IR for the duration of the Patriots' postseason run. The linebacker could provide an added boost to the defense during the playoffs if he's able to return.
