The Cowboys waived Fant on Tuesday.
Fant spent most of 2023 on the Cowboys' practice squad, though he did appear in two regular-season games and played 30 snaps on special teams. He entered training camp competing for a depth spot at tight end and across three preseason outings, he accumulated four catches on six targets for 18 yards. Fant could opt to sign with the Cowboys' practice squad or look to catch on with another team, assuming he goes unclaimed off waivers.
