The Rams placed Shelton (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday.

Shelton suffered a high-ankle sprain during the team's Week 4 loss to the 49ers, and he'll be forced to miss at least four games after landing on injured reserve. The 27-year-old center had been operating as the team's starting center over the past three weeks in the absence of Brian Allen (knee), so Jeremiah Kolone figures to be the next man up.
