The Rams waived Blanton on Saturday, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
It was a quick slide for Blanton, as the Rams had him listed as the No. 2 tight end on their depth chart less than two weeks ago. He has suited up for 12 games during his first three seaons in the league, all with Los Angeles. He will now look for a new opportunity.
