Lake is expected to start at free safety this season, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
Lake finished 2023 as the team's starter, but that wasn't necessarily guaranteed to carry over in 2024. With competition from rookie Kamren Kinchens and the returning John Johnson, he was expected to have to earn the job. However, although the starting role appears to be his to lose, Lake has seen work at cornerback as well, so his position on the Rams' defense may not be set in stone.
