Wood's new calf injury is set to keep him away from the field for at least four weeks. Now on IR, Wood's timeline should sync up perfectly, as he will be unable to leave the list for a minimum of four games anyway. The Saints will likely utilize new practice squad addition Scott Daly as the interim longsnapper by elevating him to the roster for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
