The Bills released Buechele on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Buechele was unable to impress enough during the offseason to challenge Kyle Allen for the team's backup quarterback role. Buechele spent the majority of last season on Buffalo's practice squad, serving as the team's emergency third quarterback and could serve the same role during the upcoming campaign.
