Elliott (lower body) recorded one tackle during Friday's 20-12 preseason loss to the Texans.
Elliott was carted off the field during Wednesday's practice session due to a lower-body injury, but he started during Friday's preseason opener. As long as he can remain healthy ahead of the regular season, he appears to be the favorite to start at strong safety this year after signing a two-year contract with the Steelers in March.
