The Steelers have converted $7.925 million of Tuitt's 2021 salary into signing bonus to create cap space, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

The 28-year-old remains signed through the 2022 campaign after reaching a five-year, $60 million extension in September of 2017, and the restructure will open up $6.34 million in cap room this season. Tuitt totaled 45 tackles and a career-high 11 sacks in 15 games for Pittsburgh last season, and he'll remain a key contributor in 2021.
