Watson is listed on the Texans' initial 53-man roster in advance of Week 1, ESPN's Sarah Barshop reports.

That said, the QB -- who currently faces 22 active civil lawsuits -- isn't expected to play for the team this season and will likely be a healthy scratch on game days as long as he remains on Houston's active roster. Barshop notes the Texans are prepared to keep Watson on their roster for the rest of the 2021 campaign; however, it's possible that the signal-caller's standing trade request could result in him be dealt to another team down the road. Also on the team's roster following Tuesday's league-wide cut-downs are fellow quarterbacks Tyrod Taylor and rookie Davis Mills.
