Boyle's release suggests the Dolphins are optimistic that Skylar Thompson (ribs) will be available to back up Tyler Huntley against the Patriots on Sunday, though Thompson officially is listed as questionable. It's possible that Miami intends to quickly sign Boyle to the practice squad so he can be available as the emergency third quarterback this weekend.
