New England waived Nixon on Tuesday, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
Nixon is a 2021 seventh-round pick, so he seems a likely candidate to rejoin the Patriots via the practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers. He spent his entire rookie campaign on the practice squad without making an appearance on the active roster.
