ACC

Start

T.J. Yates, QB, North Carolina vs. East Carolina

Yates has been held to under 215 yards passing in each of North Carolina's last two contests, but expect that to change against an ECU team allowing nearly 42 points per game.

Anthony Allen, RB, Georgia Tech at Wake Forest

Allen was held in check against a solid North Carolina State rushing defense, posting just 2.5 yards per carry for the game. However, the Demon Deacons were shredded for 201 yards on the ground last week against Florida State, and Allen should find the end zone for the first time this season.

Sit

Andre Ellington, RB, Clemson vs. Miami (FL)

Ellington has two 100-yard games already this season, but he hasn't faced a front four quite like Miami's. The ‘Canes held Dion Lewis of Pitt to 42 yards rushing last week. With linebacker Sean Spence playing out of his mind of late, Ellington may not find much room against The U.

Marc Verica, QB, Virginia vs. Florida State

Verica has thrown five touchdowns to one interception, but we're skeptical about the idea of him truly being a different player than the one who averaged 2.5 yards per attempt a year ago. He completed less than 50 percent of his passes against USC, and now he's going against a Seminoles defense that has 19 sacks in four games.

Big 12

Start

Lyle Leong, WR, Texas Tech at Iowa State

Leong and quarterback Taylor Potts went to high school together, so their rapport goes beyond just their time in Lubbock. Potts has found Leong six times already for touchdowns, despite five of them coming against lower-caliber opponents. However, ISU isn't exactly the cream of the Big 12 crop either, and Leong seems destined to cross the goal line at least once in this contest.

Josh Gordon, WR, Baylor vs. Kansas

Kendall Wright is the main target for the Bears, but Gordon has scored twice over the past two weeks and remains a big-play threat. With the Jayhawks likely fearful of quarterback Robert Griffin's rushing ability, Gordon could be a sneaky play this week.

Sit

Garrett Gilbert, QB, Texas at Oklahoma

The Red River Rivalry doesn't figure to be too kind to Gilbert, who tossed three interceptions in a win over Texas Tech, and had padded stats due to being down and in garbage time against UCLA. Oklahoma's defense has underachieved, but few quarterbacks have disappointed as much as Gilbert this year.

No ad available

Scotty McKnight, WR, Colorado vs. Georgia

Georgia has played three SEC games and dropped them all, meaning they'll come into this non-conference tilt with some extra motivation. Though Ryan Mallett cut the ‘Dogs up two weeks ago, Tyler Hansen isn't exactly on that level. Suffice to say, McKnight could struggle to get the ball.

Big East

Start

Ray Graham, RB, Pittsburgh vs. Florida International

As Dion Lewis has struggled, Graham's star has shined brightly, including two-straight 100-yard outputs. He's averaging 9.3 yards per carry, and figures to find plenty of room to roam against 0-3 Florida International.

Adam Froman, QB, Louisville at Arkansas State

Froman's yards per game have increased through each of his first three games this season, including a 288-yard game against Oregon State, certainly no slouch of a team. This week he'll get the Red Wolves, who are 106th in the nation in points allowed.

Sit

Robbie Frey, RB, Connecticut vs. Vanderbilt

In the absence of Jordan Todman last week, Frey crushed Buffalo to the tune of 112 yards on 13 carries, while also finding the end zone. Even if Todman can't go, Frey shouldn't have anywhere near the same success against an SEC foe, even if it is the Vandy Commodores.

Pittsburgh DST vs. Florida International

The Panthers have what ought to be a good matchup here, but Florida International has been surprisingly unkind to its BCS opponents so far, losing to Rutgers and Texas A&M to a point margin of just 12 points.

Big Ten

Start

Derrell Johnson-Koulianos, WR, Iowa vs. Penn State

DJK, as he is affectionately known, has had three touchdowns in his last two games, including a seven-catch, 117-yard performance in the close loss to Arizona two weeks ago. The go-to receiver for an improved Ricky Stanzi, DJK should get a bevy of looks with the Nittany Lions keyed in on stopping the Iowa run.

No ad available

Tandon Doss, WR, Indiana vs. Michigan

Indiana's No. 1 receiver could finally break out against the Wolverines, who haven't exactly proven as defensive stalwarts this season. Should Denard Robinson play, the Hoosiers are going to find themselves down and forced to throw, and Ben Chappell has been more than capable of finding his receivers in 2010.

Sit

Evan Royster, RB, Penn State vs. Iowa

Royster rushed for 187 yards last week in PSU's comeback win against Temple, but has been largely shut down in his other three contests. Iowa is allowing a paltry 12 points per game and will likely put all their efforts into bottling up the run and making freshman quarterback Robert Bolden beat them.

Kirk Cousins, QB, Michigan State vs. Wisconsin

Cousins was the offensive star last week against Northern Colorado, but the Badgers have allowed just 15.4 points per game thus far in 2010. With the Badgers also expected to play ball control with John Clay and James White, Cousins could find it difficult to get going for the Spartans.

Conference USA

Start

Trevor Vittatoe, QB, UTEP at New Mexico

It's been feast or famine for Vittatoe, who threw five touchdowns against New Mexico State two weeks ago, but was a woeful 16-of-33 for 171 yards and an interception against Memphis last week. We're guessing New Mexico is a weak enough opponent to get the best out of Vittatoe.

Austin Davis, QB, Southern Mississippi vs. Marshall

Davis struggled against a surprisingly tough Louisiana Tech defense on Saturday, and has really failed to get going thus far this season. However, Marshall was torched by Bowling Green two weeks ago and allowed 130 yards rushing to Ohio last week. Always a dual threat, Davis could be in for his first standout performance of the 2010 campaign.

Sit

D.J. Banks, WR, Tulane at Rutgers

Banks leads the Green Wave in receiving yards, but Rutgers is second in the nation in points allowed at 10.3 per contest, while not allowing more than 204 yards passing in any game so far this season. Combine that with a shaky quarterback position, and it's best to stay away from Banks and the rest of the Tulane skill players.

No ad available

Jermaine McKenzie, WR, Memphis vs. Tulsa

McKenzie has caught touchdowns in each of the Tigers' past two games, but the Memphis passing game is shaky and McKenzie has posted no more than 45 yards receiving in a given week.

Independents

Start

Trent Steelman, QB, Army vs. Temple

Steelman scored three times last week against Duke, and the running quarterback faces a Temple squad that was gashed for 216 yards on the ground by Penn State.

Sit

Ricky Dobbs, QB, Navy at Air Force

Air Force basically runs a better version of the Navy triple-option, leading the nation in rushing yards. Likewise, Air Force has played a much tougher schedule, beating BYU and almost pulling off the upset against Oklahoma. As such, the Falcons should dominate time of possession, leaving Dobbs and the rest of the Midshipmen hung out to dry.

MAC

Start

Terrence McCrae, WR, Ohio at Eastern Michigan

McCrae broke out last week with four catches for 188 yards and two scores against Marshall. He also found the end zone against Ohio State two weeks ago. Ride McCrae while he's hot, particularly against an 0-4 Eastern Michigan squad.

Austin Dantin, QB, Toledo vs. Wyoming

Dantin scored four touchdowns last week against a Big Ten defense, albeit it was Purdue. Still, he completed 24-of-31 passes while also rushing for 64 yards. Meanwhile, Wyoming's only victory has come against Southern Utah this season.

Sit

Alex Carder, QB, Western Michigan vs. Idaho

Carder threw an insane 63 passes two weeks ago against Toledo for 403 yards, but had four INTs in the process. Though he had a five-touchdown game against Nicholls State, the Vandals of the WAC likely will put up a bit more of a fight. As such, Carder is not a great start despite WMU's ability to air it out.

No ad available

Martel Moore, WR, Northern Illinois vs. Akron

Akron is 0-4, but the NIU Huskies are primarily a rushing team with Chad Spann and Chandler Harnish. As such, Moore, the leader in receptions and receiving touchdowns for NIU, may not get the chance to show his stuff.

MWC

Start

Austyn Carta-Samuels, QB, Wyoming at Toledo

Carta-Samuels has struggled to start the season, averaging an anemic 1.4 yards per rush en route to just five touchdowns in four games. However, three of those games were against top-notch opponents (Texas, Boise State and Air Force), and this contest with the Rockets should end up in a shootout.

Jake Heaps, QB, BYU at Utah State

Heaps' main competition, Riley Nelson, is out for the rest of the season, relieving the pressure as well as the timeshare that the freshman was in. Utah State is 101st in the nation in points allowed, meaning Heaps should find the end zone against the Aggies.

Sit

Pete Thomas, QB, Colorado State vs. TCU

Thomas has passed for at least 300 yards in each of his two last games, including a 386- yard, three-TD performance against Idaho last week. However, he hasn't faced a defense quite like TCU's, with the Horned Frogs allowing 15.5 points per game so far this season.

Channing Trotter, RB, UNLV vs. Nevada

Trotter is averaging over one yard less per carry this year than last, and has scored just once in four games. Nevada figures to dominate both in time of possession and on the scoreboard in this one, limiting Trotter's touches. Likewise, the Nevada D has been surprisingly stingy, making Trotter best left to play for another day.

Pac-10

Start

Derrick Coleman, RB, UCLA vs. Washington State

After taking care of business against Texas to the tune of 94 yards and a TD, Coleman and the rest of the Bruins should be able to feast on Washington State, the perennial punching bag of the conference. Coleman is the backup to Johnathan Franklin, but should see plenty of carries in this romp.

Joe Halahuni, TE, Oregon State vs. Arizona State

It's mostly the Rodgers' show for the Beavers, but Halahuni is a nice safety valve for QB Ryan Katz, and had three grabs for 56 yards and a touchdown against Boise State last week. He should see some touches in a game that has shootout potential.

Sit

Marc Tyler, RB, USC vs. Washington

Despite being the surprise start for the Trojans to start the year, Tyler hasn't impressed since Week 1 and is losing ground to Allen Bradford and even Dillon Baxter in the battle for carries at USC.

Steven Threet, QB, Arizona State at Oregon State

The Beavers are 1-2 to open the season, but they've actually played well through what's merely been an extremely tough opening schedule. They'll be looking to punish Arizona State for the time they've lost.

SEC

Start

Chad Bumphis, WR, Mississippi State vs. Alcorn State

Have to play the matchups here. The MSU passing game is normally anemic, but Alcorn State isn't exactly an SEC-caliber opponent. Bumphis is the leading receiver for the Bulldogs across the board.

Terrell Zachery, WR, Auburn vs. Louisiana-Monroe

Cam Newton, Michael Dyer and Darvin Adams are obvious, but Zachery is the second- leading receiver and could also find success against a Sun Belt opponent.

Sit

John Brantley, QB, Florida at Alabama

Nick Saban would love nothing more than to place the game in Brantley's hands, as the junior QB has been unspectacular to start the season. With Trey Burton also breathing down Brantley's neck as a potential future playmaker, it might be best to steer clear of the Gator QB this week against the No. 1 team in the land.

Warren Norman, RB, Vanderbilt at Connecticut

Norman is averaging 6.8 yards per carry, but the Huskies have been difficult to run on at home. The Huskies will try to make QB Larry Smith beat them, and with Zac Stacy also stealing carries from Norman, the sophomore running back may not be the best fantasy factor this time around.

Sun Belt

Start

Rob Housler, TE, Florida Atlantic at South Florida

After a slow start, Housler has really gotten going the last two weeks. He has 11 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown after catching just one pass in the opener, and Florida Atlantic throws to its tight ends almost constantly.

Jeff Van Camp, QB, Florida Atlantic at South Florida

The Owls should be down early in this one, giving Van Camp the opportunity to show off his arm and find leading receiver Lester Jean. He's completed over 63 percent of his passes so far this year.

Sit

Kolton Browning, QB, Louisiana-Monroe at Auburn

Browning has averaged two TDs per game so far this season, but Auburn has emerged as a BCS National Championship contender. Browning could be a sleeper down the road, but he'll get mauled this week by the Tigers.

Wesley Carroll, QB, Florida International at Pittsburgh

355 yards against Maryland is pretty stellar, but Pitt figures to be steaming mad after getting embarrassed by Miami (FL) on national television last Thursday. They figure to take out their frustrations on the Golden Panther gunslinger.

WAC

Start

Ryan Colburn, QB, Fresno State vs. Cal Poly

If you haven't jumped on the Colburn bandwagon yet, now is the time to do it. After throwing for 390 yards and four TDs last week against Ole Miss, so he's capable of doing similar things against Cal Poly.

Jeremy Avery, RB, Boise State at New Mexico State

With D.J. Harper out for the year, that makes Avery the new second back in the Boise State offense. Doug Martin is the clear No.1 back, but things will get out of hand against the Aggies and backups like Avery will get plenty of snaps.

Sit

Seth Smith, RB, New Mexico State vs. Boise State

At least this game isn't on the Smurf Turf? That's about the only thing going for Smith, the best weapon for NMSU, and the rest of the Aggies, who will get trounced by the Broncos and not give Smith much to write home about.

Alex Green, RB, Hawaii vs. Louisiana Tech

Green has rushed 25 times for 133 yards this season, while also scoring three times in four games. However, the Warriors remain a passing team behind Bryant Moniz, Greg Salas and Kealoha Pilares. Don't expect a change in offensive philosophy anytime soon.
