Childress was waived by the Cowboys on Sunday.
A hamstring injury in camp put Childress in a tough spot to make the final 53-man roster in Dallas. He is now subject to waivers and will become a free agent if he goes unclaimed. Childress did return from the hamstring issue late in camp, so he is healthy going into the season.
