Bostic will draw a start Sunday against the Texans, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports. Bostic will get the nod with Cole Holcomb (foot) inactive for the game. The former has played a big role in the team's rotation at linebacker the last two weeks, recording nine tackles (four solo) on 83 defensive snaps.

Bostic signed a contract with the Saints on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Bostic tried out for the Saints at the beginning of August, and the team has now signed the veteran linebacker after placing rookie fifth-round pick D'Marco Jackson (undisclosed) on IR. Bostic appeared in four games last year before suffering a season-ending pectoral injury. The former second-round pick had back-to-back 100-plus tackle seasons in 2019 and 2020, but he'll likely compete for a backup role behind Demario Davis in New Orleans.

Bostic had a team-high 10 tackles (four solo) and an interception in Monday's 23-17 win over the Steelers. Bostic racked up his highest tackle total since posting a season-high 14 against the Ravens back in Week 4, and he sealed Washington's upset of the previously undefeated Steelers with a late interception. The veteran linebacker bounced around the league earlier in his career but has settled in nicely with Washington, as he needs just 14 more tackles to reach 100 for a second consecutive season.

Bostic won't be suspended for his hit on Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton (concussion) during Sunday's win, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Dalton had given himself up and was sliding to the ground when Bostic lowered his shoulder and administered a violent hit on the quarterback's head, forcing him to leave the game and enter concussion protocol. Bostic was ejected for his actions, but it appears the league won't hand him any further discipline. A hefty fine could still be on the docket, but Bostic should remain in his starting middle linebacker role when Washington resumes play Week 9 against the Giants.

Bostic had seven tackles (five solo) and a sack in Sunday's 30-15 loss to Arizona, playing 100 percent of snaps on defense. Bostic also had seven tackles, a sack and 100 percent snap share in the season opener, with both he and Kevin Pierre-Louis handling three-down roles. Bostic had only 105 tackles (56 solo) and one sack in a similar role last season, but he's on track for much bigger numbers this year, in part because he's been so successful as a blitzer (four QB hits). He should have another busy day Week 3 at Cleveland.
