The Dolphins placed McCourty (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday. As expected, McCourty lands on IR after injuring his foot in Week 7. The team still hasn't decided if he will need surgery, but he will be sidelined for at least three weeks with the move to IR. Rookie Jevon Holland will likely step into a starting role during McCourty's absence.

McCourty (foot) is questionable to return Sunday against the Falcons. McCourty had played 35 percent or fewer of the defensive snaps in the last two games, and this injury isn't going to help his chances of seeing the number of snaps he was seeing earlier this year. If McCourty can't continue in this game, then Jevon Holland would be in line to see additional snaps.

McCourty (groin) practiced Friday and said afterward that he's "open and willing" to the idea of playing some safety in 2020, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports. McCourty missed four games, including the team's postseason loss to Tennessee, in 2019, but he's back in the saddle. The 33-year-old has played cornerback his entire career, but the team may want him to play alongside his brother Devin more at safety. Regardless, this likely means McCourty's average of 40.3 defensive snaps per game will either stay steady or rise.

McCourty (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Dolphins. McCourty aggravated the groin injury during Week 16 and worked as a limited practice participant this week. The 32-year-old missed three off the previous five games due to the issue, leaving his status for the regular-season finale up in the air.

The Patriots have downgraded McCourty (groin) to out for Sunday's tilt against the Texans. The absence will mark McCourty's second straight since suffering a groin injury. It is also just his second game missed since the start of the 2018 season. Look for J.C. Jackson and Jonathan Jones to again see increased workloads as a result.
