Hunt was signed to the Bears' active roster Tuesday. Hunt has appeared in three games this season, playing a total of 33 snaps on defense and recording four tackles (two solo). The nine-year veteran was drafted by the Bengals in the second-round of the 2013 NFL Draft and has also spent time with the Colts and Saints.

The Saints released Hunt on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. Hunt played in four games with the Saints and recorded three tackles, but he was let go just hours before the team's Week 5 matchup against the Chargers. The veteran defensive tackle added depth, but the team appears comfortable with David Onyemata and Shy Tuttle behind Malcom Brown and Sheldon Rankins (hand).

The Saints promoted Hunt to the active roster Saturday, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports. Hunt has suited up in each of the first two games, logging 30 and 48 percent of the snap shares, respectively. The defensive tackle could have a lot on his plate again in facing Aaron Jones, who rushed for 168 yards and two scores in Week 2 against the Lions.

Hunt earned a contract with the Saints this offseason after he accumulated 17 tackles (14 solo) across 16 games for the Colts last season. Hunt likely won't be a free agent long, as he could be brought back by the Saints should injuries occur or land on the practice squad.

Hunt signed a contract with the Saints on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. Hunt spent the last three years in Indianapolis, where he appeared in 47 games (25 starts). The 32-year-old now stands to bolster the interior of the Saints' defensive line, though he also has the versatility to play defensive end in a pinch.
