  • Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday that Armstead is viewed as day-to-day with a shoulder injury, Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald reports. Armstead exited Thursday night's loss to the Bills with a shoulder injury, but following McDaniel's comments Monday, it appears the 33-year-old offensive lineman could return to the field sooner rather than later. His practice participation will be something to monitor as the week progresses, but if Armstead needs more time to recover, expect Kendall Lamm or Patrick Paul to assume Miami's top left-tackle duties.

  • Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that there's optimism Armstead (shoulder) will be back on the field "sooner than later" and has avoided a worst-case scenario injury, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports. Armstead spent time on and off the field during Thursday night's loss to the Bills before finally leaving for the locker room in the third quarter. The veteran is one of the league's best left tackles when healthy, but injuries have been a recurring issue in his career. It's encouraging that Armstead doesn't seem to be dealing with a season-ending injury, and if he isn't able to play Week 3 versus Seattle, the Dolphins can turn to either Kendall Lamm or rookie Patrick Paul.

  • Armstead (shoulder) is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Bills, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. The left tackle exited in the third quarter after Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw a pick-six. Armstead briefly returned but then went back to the locker room. Patrick Paul and Kendall Lamm are Miami's backup tackles.

  • Armstead confirmed Wednesday that he intends to stick with the Dolphins for the 2024 season, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports. Armstead said after Miami's wild-card round playoff exit that he would consider retirement as a possible option this offseason, but the Pro Bowl left tackle will run it back heading into his age-33 season. Durability has always been a concern for Armstead, who has now played just eight, 13 and 10 games in the last three seasons. Still, Armstead remains a standout performer when on the field, so his commitment for the 2024 campaign is good news for the Dolphins' offense.

  • Armstead may consider retirement this offseason, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Armstead played 10 regular-season games in 2023, his 11th season, missing time due to a quadriceps injury earlier in the season and later due to an ankle injury. The 32-year-old stated he never makes decisions immediately after the season and will take time to plan his future. Despite the injuries, Armstead continues to play at a high level, earning his fifth career Pro Bowl nod this season. Armstead still has three years remaining on his current contract.
