Tennesse cut Hogan from the practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Hogan spent the 2021 campaign with Tennessee's practice squad before re-signing with this unit Dec. 13. However, the veteran journeyman never worked his way onto the active roster even though starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill (ankle) ended the season on IR, as Joshua Dobbs stepped into the No. 1 role ahead of rookie Malik Willis. Hogan will now likely look for a new team where he'll have a chance to make his NFL debut heading into the 2023 season.

Hogan agreed to a contract with the Texans on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. After being cut by the Titans following the 2022 NFL Draft last weekend, Hogan didn't take long to find a new home. Since being selected in the fifth round of the 2016, Hogan has bounced around the league, spending time with the Browns, Commanders, Broncos and Bengals while appearing in nine career games. Hogan will likely compete against Kyle Allen and Jeff Driskel for backup duties to top signal-caller Davis Mills.

Hogan signed with Cincinnati's practice squad Saturday. The 28-year-old last saw game action in 2017 with the Browns, but he'll now receive an opportunity with the Bengals. Hogan provides depth behind Brandon Allen and Ryan Finley now that Joe Burrow (knee) is on injured reserve.

Hogan completed 12 of 23 passes for 138 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in the Broncos' 20-7 preseason win over the Cardinals on Thursday. Hogan outgained fellow signal-caller Brett Rypien in passing yardage, but he averaged just 6.0 yards per attempt and short-circuited two drives with his picks. The third-year quarterback is battling Rypien to open the season as Joe Flacco's primary backup, and neither has has pulled clearly ahead of the other with their play. Therefore, further insight will have to be gleaned from final cuts and related developments over the coming days.

Hogan started Saturday's 10-6 preseason loss to the Rams, completing eight of 12 attempts for 69 yards and rushing four times for 14 yards while playing the first three series. The third-year signal-caller did well during his starting stint, though it's worth noting the Rams did not treat the contest as any sort of dress rehearsal. In fact, Los Angeles sat its first-team defense, but Hogan was able to lead an 11-play, 63-yard march that culminated in a field goal on his last possession of the game. Coach Vic Fangio has stated Brett Rypien is competing with Hogan for the No. 2 quarterback job to open the season with Drew Lock (thumb) sidelined, and Hogan appears to have turned in a more productive performance Saturday on a yards-per-attempt basis while also flashing his signature mobility.
