Charlton signed a contract with the Sants on Monday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Charlton is coming off a season playing for a fourth different team in five years, finishing with 18 tackles, 0.5 sacks and one pass defensed over 11 games for the Steelers. He'll look to add depth at defensive end for the Saints in 2022.

Charlton (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Charlton didn't practice at all last week and predictably didn't play against the Broncos on Sunday, but it appears he's been cleared heading into a Week 8 matchup against the Jets. Charlton hasn't played more than 30 percent of the defensive snaps in any given game, but he's still managed to produce two sacks so far. He's slated to continue working in a situational role moving forward.

Charlton has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos with a knee injury. The 25-year-old was unable to practice this week and won't be available for Week 7. Charlton has two sacks in five games and hasn't played more than 27 percent of defensive snaps, so it shouldn't be a major absence for Kansas City.
