  Williamson recorded 11 tackles (nine solo) across 67 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Bills. Williamson led the team in tackles Sunday, as he now has 20 tackles over the past two weeks. Sunday was by far Williamson's highest snap count on defense (89 percent) since being traded to the Steelers. He'll now shift his focus to a primetime matchup with the Bengals.

  Williamson was traded to the Steelers on Sunday along with a 2022 seventh-round pick for Pittsburgh's 2022 fifth-rounder, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Williamson goes from the only winless team in the league to the lone undefeated team. Once he gets acclimated to his new surroundings, Williamson figures to slide into a starting inside linebacker role for the Steelers. He suited up for the Jets earlier Sunday, leading the team with nine tackles in a 35-9 loss to the Chiefs.

  Williamson recorded nine tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 36-7 loss to the Colts. Williamson was one tackle shy of Bradley McDougald's team-high total on the afternoon. The veteran linebacker was injured to start the season but is rounding into form and should be a steady source of tackles moving forward.

• Jets' Avery Williamson: Restructures contract

  Williamson agreed Monday to a restructured 2020 contract worth $3.5 million, including $1 million guaranteed, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Williamson will have the earning potential of $5 million, but the new deal saves the Jets $3.75 million in cap space for the 2020 season. The 28-year-old is coming off a torn ACL that cost him his 2019 season, so the restructuring could be looked at as a "prove-it" deal before he enters free agency this coming offseason.

Williamson has been recovering from an ACL tear that resulted in him missing the entire 2019 season. His value for the Jets increased after C.J. Mosley's decision to opt out opened up more cap space for the Jets and made him more of a priority. Barring any setbacks, he 28-year-old appears on track for Week 1.
