The Cardinals cut Williams (foot) from the practice squad injured list with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The Cardinals made two cuts from their backfield Thursday, with the other one Tony Jones getting waived from the active roster. The combination of moves may mean James Conner (knee) is poised to be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Falcons, but Williams himself now must meet the terms of the settlement in order to find another opportunity elsewhere.

The Cardinals placed Williams (foot) on the practice squad injured list Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Williams had three touches for nine yards in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Ravens before exiting the game in the second quarter after sustaining a foot injury. He will have to sit out for the next four games and will be eligible to return against the Rams on Nov. 26.

Williams (foot) reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction report. Williams made an early exit from Sunday's loss to the Ravens late in the second quarter and was unable to return, finishing Week 8 with two carries for five yards and one catch (on one target) for four yards. Arizona has elevated him three times from the practice squad, so the team must sign him to the active roster in order for him to be a part of its backfield. Having said that, Williams' health might prevent that from happening in the short term.

Williams sustained a foot injury during Sunday's game against the Ravens, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. With James Conner (knee) on injured reserve, Arizona has elevated Williams for three consecutive contests, but his touch count has wavered from nine Week 6 to one last Sunday and now three this week. Prior to Williams' departure, those looks translated to nine yards from scrimmage. Emari Demercado will remain the team's lead runner moving forward, with Keaontay Ingram in reserve.

The Cardinals elevated Williams to the active roster Saturday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Williams joined the Cardinals' practice squad Oct. 5 after being let go by the Raiders during training camp. He's been promoted and played in each of the last two games as a depth running back behind Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado, with James Conner (knee) on injured reserve since Oct. 10. Since this is the third time Williams has been elevated this season, the Cardinals would need to sign him to their active roster if they want to continue to play him for the rest of 2023.
