  • Reed is questionable to play Sunday against the Saints due to personal reasons, Missi Matthews of the Steelers' official site reports. Reed was excused for personal reasons during practice Thursday and was listed as a limited participant Friday, though the nature of this issue is still unclear. The 26-year-old has played a prominent role over eight games for Pittsburgh this season, recording 18 tackles, one sack and two passes defended while playing 300 defensive snaps. However, with star outside linebacker T.J. Watt (knee) expected to play for the first time since Week 1, Reed's usage could take a dip even if he is ultimately available to play against New Orleans.

  • Steelers' Malik Reed: Traded to Pittsburgh
    By RotoWire

The Broncos traded Reed to the Steelers on Tuesday in exchange for late draft-pick compensation, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Reed suffered an eye injury during the Broncos' second exhibition game but returned to action during the preseason finale. The 26-year-old started 26 games for Denver since the start of 2020 and posted a team-high 13 sacks and three forced fumbles during that stretch. However, Reed was looking at a reduced role this year with Josey Jewell and Bradley Chubb both healthy to start 2022, plus the addition of Randy Gregory (shoulder). In Pittsburgh, Reed figures to operate as a depth pass rusher behind Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt.

The 25-year-old has started 26 games since the start of 2020 and posted a team-high 13 sacks and three forced fumbles during that stretch. Reed figures to garner a similar role during the upcoming season.

  • Broncos' Malik Reed: Notches two sacks
    By RotoWire

Reed recorded three tackles, two sacks and a pass defensed in a 17-10 win over Washington on Sunday. Reed had missed practice earlier in the week with a hip injury, but if it was bothering him Sunday it didn't show up in the box score. The two sacks ties a single game career high while also doubling his season total. Reed will try to keep rolling Sunday against the Cowboys.
