The 49ers re-signed McKivitz to a one-year, $7 million contract Friday, per AMDG Sports. The 27-year-old will remain a 49er for the immediate future after agreeing to a new, one-year deal Friday. McKivitz has spent all four years of his career in San Francisco, making 45 appearances and starting 22 games. The veteran tackle also started all 17 of the 49ers' games in 2023, so he'll likely have the opportunity to start once again in 2024.

McKivitz (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation and has been cleared to play in Sunday's Week 11 game against the Bucs, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. McKivitz has started all nine games at right tackle for San Francisco. He'll see plenty of Shaquil Barrett and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka off the edge for the Bucs Sunday.

Offensive line coach Chris Foerster confirmed Wednesday that McKivitz will be the 49ers' starting right tackle to begin the 2023 season, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. McKivitz, a 2020 fifth-round pick, has appeared in 28 games (five starts) over his first three NFL seasons. He finds himself in line for a more prominent role during Year 4 with Mike McGlinchey now in Denver. McKivitz signed a two-year extension in March, so he's under contract through 2024.
