  • Patriots' Mike Onwenu: Staying at tackle
    By RotoWire

Onwenu is slated to be the Patriots' starting right tackle in 2024, Mark Daniels of The Providence Journal reports. Owenwu has bounced around New England's offensive line playing guard and tackle for the last two seasons, but that is no longer the plan for the 26-year-old. The 2020 sixth-rounder recently signed a three-year, $57 million contract extension with the team, whose new coaching staff views the Michigan product as exclusively a tackle.

  • The Patriots plan to sign Onwenu to a three-year, $57 million contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Over four years with New England, Onwenu has missed just two games, so the Patriots expect to retain stability on their offensive line for the future. They're also hoping to improve a rushing offense that ranked 26th in the league in 2023.

  • Patriots' Mike Onwenu: Good to go Sunday
    By RotoWire

Onwenu (ankle) is active ahead of Sunday's game against Buffalo. New England's starting right guard is in line to play Sunday after suffering an ankle injury during the team's Week 6 loss to the Raiders and logging limited practice sessions all week. Onwenu continues to be an iron man for the Patriots, as he's only missed one game throughout his four-year NFL career.

    By RotoWire

Onwenu played 46 of a total possible 74 snaps in Sunday's 24-17 loss versus Miami, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports. Onwenu opened New England's training camp on the PUP list and subsequently had to sit out Week 1, but he said it felt good to play again in Week 2 and now figures to work his way back to a full-time role in the coming weeks. He'll most likely start at right guard in Week 3 at the Jets.
