The Chargers waived Mason (undisclosed) on Tuesday with an injury waiver, per the NFL's official transaction log. The Steelers have not provided much transparency regarding the specific nature of Mason's injury. Assuming he ultimately clears waivers, the fullback will join the free-agent ranks.

He'll now get a chance in Los Angeles with Jim Harbaugh, his college coach at Michigan and the brother of his former coach in Baltimore.

He has yet to play in an NFL game since being selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent last year on Baltimore's practice squad and will resume that role to start the 2023 season.

He ended up back with the Ravens last season but ended up on the practice squad again for the entire campaign. Mason has yet to play a snap in the NFL, and he's a candidate to rejoin Baltimore's practice squad once again for the start of the coming campaign.

Mason was drafted by the Ravens in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft but ended up splitting his rookie season between the Patriots and Bears practice squads after failing to make the team. While he failed to make Baltimore's 53-man roster once again in 2022, Mason will remain in the Ravens organization as a potential injury replacement for Patrick Ricard.
