The Chargers waived Shepherd (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Los Angeles waived/injured the 27-year-old Tuesday, and he reverted to IR after clearing waivers Wednesday. Shepherd had his last in-game action in 2020 with Green Bay, playing primarily as a return man. In 14 career games, the wideout has returned 20 kicks for a total of 418 yards.

Shepherd was waived by the Chargers on Monday. Besides competing for a depth receiver role with the Chargers, Shepherd was also looking to earn returner opportunities. He ultimately came up short, but he will be a candidate to end up on the team's practice squad. The 27-year-old has not suited up for an NFL game since 2020 with the Packers.

Shepherd has been let go from the Broncos' practice squad, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Shepherd joined Denver as an undrafted free agent in early August. He failed to earn a spot on its 53-man roster during final cuts but subsequently reverted to the practice squad. He has seemingly not showed enough to hang on to a spot and will now be free to look for a new opportunity.
