The Seahawks cut Winston from their practice squad Monday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. Winston returned to the Seahawks' practice squad after failing to make the team's initial 53-man roster, but it now appears that Seattle has moved on from the 27-year-old once again. Winston appeared in one regular-season game with the Seahawks in 2023, recording no stats while playing just two total snaps.

Winston spent all of 2023 on the Seahawks' practice squad, and he saw action in Week 7 against the Cardinals, during which he played two offensive snaps. Winston had a solid preseason, finishing with eight catches (on 10 targets) for 99 yards and one touchdown across three games. He'll stick around on Seattle's taxi squad and stay ready for a promotion to the active roster during the upcoming season.

Winston has been toggling between the Seahawks' practice squad and active roster for the better part of the last two years. Now 27, Winston has one career catch across four regular-season games. He saw 63 offensive snaps this preseason, logging an 8-98-1 receiving line.

Winston caught three of four targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 16-15 preseason loss to the Titans. Winston started the game and scored on a 23-yard go route from Sam Howell in the first quarter. The 27-year-old now has 77 yards through two preseason games, the most of any Seahawks receiver. Winston is making a good case to earn one of the final roster spots, and his usage as a punt returner works in his favor, too.

Winston reverted to Seattle's practice squad Monday. Winston failed to record a stat over two offensive snaps after he was elevated ahead of Sunday's 20-10 win over Arizona. If DK Metcalf (ribs) remains unavailable in Week 8 against the Browns, Winston could return to the active roster again.
