  Coleman (concussion) does not have an injury designation for Sunday's clash against the Giants, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. Coleman suffered a concussion Week 7 versus Carolina and subsequently missed Week 8 versus the Bears. However, he was able to log a pair of full practices to end this week and will thus be able to suit up Sunday. Coleman's return comes at a good time, as Cornelius Lucas, who had been starting at left tackle, is out Sunday due to an ankle injury.

He was a limited practice participant Wednesday, but his ability to practice in full Thursday indicates that Coleman is progressing through the league's concussion protocols. He still has some more steps to go through before getting clearance to play Sunday against the Giants.

He was unable to practice all week while working through the league's concussion protocols, and that could put him in jeopardy of also missing the Commanders' Week 9 NFC East showdown against the Giants on Sunday, Nov. 3.   Head coach Dan Quinn told reporters Monday that Coleman is in concussion protocol following Sunday's 40-7 win over the Panthers, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports. The 2024 third-round pick out of TCU played just 15 offensive snaps before exiting Washington's blowout win due to a concussion. Coleman's participation in practice throughout the week will provide the best indication of whether he can return for the Commanders' Week 8 matchup against the Bears. However, Coleman must clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in order to suit up Sunday, regardless of his practice participation.

  Coleman is being evaluated for a concussion and is listed as questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Panthers, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports. Coleman was checked out in the blue medical tent following his head injury, but he has gone back to the locker room for further evaluation. He will need to pass the league's five-step concussion protocols in order to return to Sunday's game. Cornelius Lucas is the next man up at left tackle while Coleman is sidelined.
